An Independent Audiobook-Award nominee and Sultry Listener Award-winner, Heather’s love of acting began in grade 7 when she was forced to take drama simply because all other electives were full. The universe clearly knew best, because she went on to graduate with a BFA in Dramatic Arts from one of Canada’s top ranked Universities. She has since honed her narration technique studying intensely with Sean Pratt and Joel Froomkin as well as participating in many Deyan masterclass events.
Her journey to full-time narrator has been circuitous and colorful to say the least: she has been a waitress, worked in accounting (even though she hates math) and in a diesel repair shop. She lived the real-life “Orange is the New Black” experience as a cook supervisor in a medium security jail, supervising inmates in the kitchen - giving her a unique perspective on true-crime, legal thriller and police procedural material. And you bet, she has stories.
She fell in love with romance books after a friend invited her to go see, you guessed it, the movie Fifty Shades of Grey. She promptly started the Naughty Book Blog, reviewing and promoting romance, including audiobooks. When she learned narrators could record from home (even in frigid Alberta) she realized she could combine her love of acting with her love of books. To date she has narrated almost 200 titles, including work for Blackstone, Dreamscape, Podium and Audible Studios.
While she is well-known in romance circles (narrating across the spectrum from sweet to scintillating), Heather also loves to narrate mysteries – cozy or creepy; thrillers and post apocalyptic fantasy. Since her married name is Heather Graham, she was forced to narrate everything under a pseudonym whether she like it or not!
When not narrating, she enjoys cuddling with her dog Otis, camping, singing and traveling with friends.
